LOS EXTRAÑEROS-

This comic is set in the depths of nowhere (South America) in the near future (2200). Although the characters are all teens-young adults, they have very adult physical and mental problems throughout the story they need to fix. From problems such as Nuclear war, Famine, Homelessness, to something as seemingly unimportant as dragging along your friend group to find an EX partner. This comic will create a world in which adventures through different countries will never seem to cease, and where a group of friends will try to find a way to live in a world that seems so desolate.

The characters we follow seem modern in themselves, clothes and mannerisms appearing as a teen would today. However, the world around them is very different, as the reader will find out. People in this world are almost always eccentric and off - for better or worse. The friend group needs to find out who they can trust, depend on, and ultimately, embrace as a fellow traveller. Their travels take them from South America through Central America, ultimately to the east coast of America (Dialogue in both English and Spanish).

WORLD DESCRIPTION (CONTINUING TO BE EDITED)-

Through the story are “Cachudos” (Cachudo meaning horned/devil)- Humans or animals that have been affected by the nuclear wars radiation poisoning. Many had been born with deformities, but as physical deformities were shown commonly in characteristics like black eyes, charred skin, a contagious disease developed called “Caminote”. This highly dangerous sickness attacks and kills within days via gripping cough, internal bleeding, and a bloodied dark red/purple substance that eventually can be seen in the victims eyes and most of the skin. The disease was not found quickly after the wars ended because the victims who contacted it would present as healthy and recovering until about a year later. So far, no antidote to halt pain for the victims nor stop the spread has been created, which resorted to a worldwide panic as well as significant casualties.

Although differing governments have not halted in their totality, the last standing countries have developed dictatorships. “States” A country enveloping The Northern part of the America continent, and “Infier” the Southern part, are the only countries developed in this story. Governments began to burn remains of all humans touched by the nuclear radiation when the disease was noticed a year after the wars, and in little time at all, world leaders sent out E.O.s to begin to execute the living who were said to have recovered to an “abnormal extent” and were hypothesized to have shown symptoms. Eventually, the last standing “High Officials” become overwhelmed by the publics pushback and the still spreading plague, and begin residing fully undercover in cities. They continue carrying out their goal of extinguishing the disease and any and all things that could hold as a reminder of the former nuclear wars.

The comic itself is filled with survival and hope in a perilous landscape, navigating friendships and love at the end of the world, and an apocalypse-like understanding for trust and belief. All being told by a group of friends searching for meaning in the Americas.
